the event on the horizon
reaches into infinity.
The year has been lost to the sands of time. Most remember the time before fear, a time when bellies were full and the children could play. That doesn’t happen anymore. All hope has been lost, as forsaken by humanity as humanity has been forsaken by their gods.
Or at least, that’s what they think.
Gods is such a loose term. There are so many levels, so many variations, that to call all “gods” is practically insulting. It is quite simple to say that they are vast and they are many. They are so much bigger than good or evil, god or mortal.
It defies definition.
It defies the fabric of time.
There are three layers to this. There is a world best described as ours, in which nothing has gone wrong. There is the world in which this tragedy has happened. And there is the future if nothing stops it.
As reality crumbles, humanity finds itself slipping between the time streams. Visions of the past flicker in the future, tricking many into insanity. Of course, many don't need the help. With the world the way it is, full but empty, one can't help but feel their mind slipping away into the void. There's simply nothing one can do.
Or is there? With time in flux, space is soon to follow.
Yeah, that’s right. All of space.
Normal people are finding their own strength multiplied, their speed increased, and their stamina unwavering. Of course, this goes in the opposite way, as well. Others who are at the prime of life are unable to get off the floor after tripping over themselves.
The tides can turn. It just needs the right turn of phase.
But for whom do the tides turn for? There are factions here, just as there are factions in so many conflicts. There are no wars with only one side.
